Just a tidbit to add to this discussion, I was watching and old western on TV the other night "Wanted Dead or Alive" They had a close up of the stage coach driver, and his shotgun rider. The shot gun was a Parker looked to be an O grade but differently saw Parker Bros on the gun barrels were cut to just beyond the for end, Hammer gun of course, Gary

Austin, I have s/n 5056 which has the old flush (non-recessed) hinge pin. Fig 3.20 of TPS says Parker guns after about serial 5500 have the spherical recess hinge
