10ga bore size

Default 10ga bore size

My 10 ga hammer with twist barrels have a bore dia. of .798".Have they been honed? Wall thichness at end of chamber is.100",6" from chamber .950".Min.wall thickness .050 with moderate pitting.In your opinion would they be safe to shoot.

Edward,
I have two early 10 gauges one hammerless and one hammer gun and both have bore diameters in the '795 range. On early 10's this was common.

I believe mine is over .800. My 12ga hammer gun is .740. Most were larger than todays standard.
