Default The continuing photobucket saga...

You may have noticed that most photobucket photos are again visible. Photobucket sent me an email announcing "Your photos have been liberated!" and offering an ad-free site and 3rd party hosting for $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year. I'm tempted, but I wonder what they'll do to us if and when they get their members back?

Mine are not

I copied them all and deleted them when they started the foolishness

No intention of adding them back

You don't need photobucket here and another forum I frequent uses post image. This is free and much easier to use than photo bucket ever was. I won't go back.

I copied all mine also but I've never closed my account and they're still sitting there. I'm using Imgur and it's working fine. But I have found that they were easier to organize in photobucket and did like that feature.

I guess I don't understand why one needs to go to a 2nd (or 3rd) party server to post (at least on this site) photos at all. Every one I've ever posted I've transferred from my digital camera or cell phone to my computer, resized them as needed, then posted. I'm probably not nerdy enough!

Tried to see if it worked. Loaded with garbage that slows to uselessness but did git it to function.

I, too; always post on this site directly from my computer. But, say for instance you're posting a FOR SALE ad on several sites including those that require a hosting site (i.e. doublegunshop.com, etc.) it's easier to just write the ad once and then copy and paste the ad on various sites.

Many sites do not have that capability.
