Default Potential To Acquire

Good morning. I have the potential to obtain a Parker from a family member. I think I have figured out the basics of the gun, but don't know what it really means in terms of lineage, value, etc. I am much more familiar with the other American SxS made with side plates.

The gun I am looking at, and can provide pictures via email, is SN 68681, with 2 weight barrels and #2 frame with 32" barrels. I think it is made in 1891. It has the fishtail top lever, some of what I would call minor pitting in the barrels, and is off-face just a smidge to the point of not noticable when firmly grabbing barrels and frame together. I believe it is a G grade based upon the letter stamped on the water table. The marks on the barrels are 46 there are also the letters D and H stamped on the barrel flats.

I would like any feedback available, a gunsmith that I could send it to for review on condition and if it is shootable with my RST loads I shoot in my other guns, and potential value. I would guess overall condition to be about 60-70%.

I'd love to get it fixed up enough to hunt with once a year.

Thanks,
Jevon

Welcome Jevon! Where are you located and maybe we all know a gunsmith in your area.

Mills,

My apologies. I should have included that info. I am in NW Arkansas.

Buck Hamlin is one of the top gunsmiths and he is located in Pevely, Missouri. You can post some photos here and people on here can give you more information

Looks to be a fairly typical GH grade. Looks to have a few little stock damage issues. The fishtail lever is a nice touch

What do the initials D and H represent on the barrel flats? Good to see my identification was correct.

H is an inspector's stamp.
