Default More Damascus

This belongs to a buddy, and made by a friend of mine. Wouldn't it be spectacular to have a barrel made from this steel?

What a gorgeous work of art. Nice unique pattern. There is a maker up here in Fairbanks making very nice damascus knives. He has an old forging hammer of some sort and uses old flat files and chainsaw chains for material. Heats them up in the forge, lays a chain on top of a file and forges them together then twists them and keeps forging. The blades are very nice and take a very keen edge. I donated a bundle of old files I found at an old gold mine and all my worn out chains to his stock of raw material.

Our own Paul Harm makes a very nice Damascuss knife. I was lucky enough to win one at his shoot 2yrs ago. Maybe lady luck will shine again next month.

I don't know if it's the metal but it holds a edge very well.
