Based on what I see, it looks like the frame has been recolored and the gun has been restocked. Major hints at the stock are the overall form differing from thpical style in many ways. ie: the comb, grip and the cheek panels. Nothing screams incorrect about the forend, except for the oval inlay and the checkering looks off in places. That along with the fact that it seems to match the stock makes me think it was replaced along with the stock.

Mike, I beg to differ on the pad. It looks to me to be a nice quality done double line leather covered pad.

Brian I only asked if there was a makers name on the pad. I agree with you about the originality of the gun. All that being said, it's a fine looking SBT.

Default SBT Thoughts

I`ve owned a few Single Barrel Trap guns and it looks from the pics the fine ol` Parker has been restocked and refinished. Now its time to take it to the Trap line...

Thanks for the input guys, I've had this gun for over 15 yrs, and use to shoot a lot of trap with it.
When I bought it, I thought it had been re-done but never really knew for sure and didn't have much for resources back then to confirm that fact. I don't shoot much trap anymore(virtually none in the last 7-8 yrs) but digging this out of the safe makes me want to go shoot a round or two at one of the local sportsamans clubs this Sunday. If I do two things are for certain, I will not win high overall, and this will be the best looking gun there.

Randy, the gun on the bottom of the second picture is a Three Barrel Gun Co. SBT. I inherited one from my grandfather. It was the highest grade (C) that they made. I had it repaired by Maurice Mudges in NY. The ATA museum didn't have one in their collection so I donated it to them. Wish I had never done that! Are these guns yours?

Default SBT Thoughts

Chuck, yes it is... Mine is a B grade, still in its original condition . I knew the Museum had a C grade, I too wish you still had it. They are a rare and quality
made shotgun. I have a 1907 Three Barrel Gun Co. catalogue & price list. Yes, the SBT collection is mine, displayed them three years ago. Have added a couple since then.

Best regards,
Randy

I have what looks like the exact pad on my 1928 Trojan. Was the "decelerator" pad an option at that time?

No, it is a pad that dates a lot later than that.

Do I recall that some late Remington guns were cyanide rather than bone charcoal. That would explain bright colors. Deal grego after he left Remington also used cyanide. Somewhere in Parker story. Need to look
