Default 10 ga loads ?

Just picked up a 1882 10ga Remington - worked a bit on it and shot one shell. The recoil was way less than my 10ga Parker. Last year I tried shooting SC's with the Parker and man was it kicking the sh** out of me. Let a buddy shoot it and he couldn't believe I was shooting 50 clays with it. The Parker has 2 5/8" chambers and that's what my shells are trimmed to. Only using 1oz of shot. The Parker has no forcing cones, just a step at the end of the chamber. The bores are big - .800 . Can't figure it out. Maybe have the step removed at the end of the chamber so there is a slight forcing cone and 2 7/8" shells could be used. Then I could use the same shell in both guns. The Parker is a nice lifter and I'd really like to use it.
