. . . AND THE WINNER OF THE WILY WOODSMAN TITLE goes to . . . **** DEAN ROMIG ****Dean is truly a WILY WOODSMAN!

Congratulations and high fives goes out to Dean for correctly guessing the number of whitetailed deer in the photo. Dean's guess of "7" was the only entrant submitting the correct number of deer in the photo.

The ATTABOY! Award has been awarded to Robin Lewis. For crying-out-loud, Robin's eyes somehow, someway found 18 deer in that photo! We don't know what he had for breakfast, but we now know we need some of it!

The judges would like to congratulate both Dean and Robin as well as all others that submitted entries for this epic event. Thank you one and all for playing along!

P.S. The photo was taken from our deck here in Northcentral Wisconsin. Yes, we have wolves here that roam the area, most of them are in the northern half of the state. In 2017 the population of wolves in Wisconsin was estimated at 809, the U.P. of Michigan had 662 wolves. It is estimated that each wolf will kill 20 deer per year -- that's over 16,000 deer are killed by wolves each year in WI. In addition, 70 dogs (mostly bear hounds) were killed by wolves in WI in 2017.

Greg, for those of us with bad eyes is there a way you can point out the deer in the photo.

And I don't know about Wisconsin wolf population but to say the UP has only 600 to 700 wolves, only the Feds could come up with that (low ball )number!

I'm going out deer hunting in the morning and will stay out all day, coming in only when I've lost legal shooting light.

Let's see if I see even one....

Good job for anyone that saw more than the...uh, one (1) I saw.

You know, the one on the left, standing out so blatantly; acting like a cardboard cut-out decoy.

Yeah, I saw that one.
