Default New to the Parker Club

Howdy, I'm an avid CZ owner and collector. At a recent gun show, a shotgun just spoke to me..even though I wasn't looking for shotguns. I had to have her, but I didn't know anything about Parker shotguns at the time. I did a little research on my phone and called a friend who is a collector of old guns. I left the show with it, and even if it's monetary value isn't anything more than I paid, I'm still happy that I own this fine firearm and can pass it down someday. Anyways, glad to be here. Looking forward to getting involved in other discussions.

What I think I know about it:
1897 Parker DHE
Damascus Barrel
English grip
Original ivory beads
All original
Double trigger
Shell ejector

Welcome. Enjoy shooting that fine gun. A research letter can reveal even more about your gun, and I highly recommend getting one if the records are available.

May we see more pictures of different aspects of your gun?

Incidentally, it is a DH, not a DHE... the E indicating it has ejectors which your gun has not.

I like your new gun. Sure would like to see more pics of the barrels. What frame size? Welcome to the Parker world.

Is there a dog engraved on your DH's floor plate?.... maybe not early enough...

It would have been difficult to "overpay" for your DH. In your description the correct term is "extractor", not ejector. We need more pictures, especially the rib at the breech end and all surfaces of the receiver.

Thanks everyone, I plan to take more pictures tomorrow while I have it out of the safe to show a friend. Thanks for all of your replies.

More pictures and information. I did confuse the extractor for ejectors. It does not have the ejectors. Thanks to some of you for clarifying.

Frame Size=2
Weight = 46
Triggers are configured for LEFT hand shooter. Can the triggers be reconfigured? If not, does a Lefty add anything to the value?

It has Dogs engraved on both sides. Appears to be a different breed of dog on each side.
On the underside appears to be pheasants.

Nice DH, especially with that straight stock. The triggers look correct for a right hand shooter (right barrel trigger in the front position)...if I am seeing your photo correctly. I'd get those nice Damascus barrels looked at by an expert and if in good shape (sure looks like it from the outside), take that nice gun out for a shoot with appropriate shells.
