Default Fall Southern Results and Photos

A bunch of PGCA members and double gun enthusiasts had a great time this weekend at Backwoods Quail Club in Georgetown, SC! I heard many comments that this was the best ever. Vendor turnout was low, but there were still good buys to be had and some great guns to be seen.

Team Parker won the 5 stand challenge 129 to Team L.C. Smith's 120. Smith won the Hammer Gun Challenge by a nail biting 1 point over Team Parker. Team L. C. Smith won the American Classics Trap Challenge by 1 point, with Team Ithaca in second. I saw the Ithaca folks shooting and they did a great job, to the point that I just assumed they must have won! Fox and Winchester also had teams too. There was a lot of good shooting this weekend! I will try to get more detailed scores.

PS: Apologies in advance if I got anyone's name wrong or otherwise messed up. Lots of photos here.

Here are some photos:

Thanks to Jeremy Campbell from the Elsie folks for sharing these photos. Hard to take photos with myself in them and I don't do 'selfies' anyway

I never even heard a single boom from a black powder shell.

I did not either. There were plenty of events to keep a shooter busy, though. This is a shooting event more than anything and a great one at that.

Mills:
A great job in photo journalism coverage! And you are right. It was a GREAT event. And not a bit of any travel issues related to the rains.

However... I wish you'd have snapped a pic of the most "explosive" exhibition at the shoot:
The "Hog Heaven Mobile BBQ Van"! Yummy!

(I keep a roll of Tums handy for just such opportunities)

If I can ever make it down there for this thing I have a feeling I'm gonna be more inclined to sit in one of their treestands and see if I can pot some poor unsuspecting South Carolina man eating deer with one of my EH guns
