Default Leather Covered Recoil Pads.

I’m thinking about getting the things needed to try doing one myself.
Any insight would be more than welcome.

I agree; they're some of the nicest of available recoil pads, which I generally avoid. The one's like this that I have handled were also soft enough to actually help with recoil, unlike most that might as well be made of cast iron, and light enough to not throw the balance of the gun off. .

Travis Sims does a good job of leather recoil pads. You might send him a message.
