They don't have them up now for lack of inventory but I believe when I got them (two years ago) they said they are NOT low pressure loads.

Interesting, RST sent me a word document with their load pressures in February this year. They list a 1oz 16 gauge A5 load at 8000 psi. The document doesn't list a 12 gauge A5 load.

I would assume that any load specified for semi-autos would be hot, to ensure they would cycle dirty, poorly maintained guns

I would shoot them in a 16 gauge VH. I doubt that they are all that hot.

So there's your answer. If I remember correctly, Morris developed these for use in short-chambered (2 9/16") 16 ga. A-5s to ensure proper cycling. (I am assuming your loads are 2 1/2" ??). I have shot a number of them and they are really nice loads for the short-chambered guns. |

Morris may pump those shells up a little for reliable functioning in the A-5. However, that is not required to make the gun work. My 12 gauge A-5s work with light 7/8 ounce loads with modified friction rings. My solution is to cut the ring in half with a machinist's saw and the result is a ring for two guns. This system has worked for me for years. By the way, the 16 gauge A-5 load is one ounce at 1200 fps, same as the Lite and Paper Lite. The only way to lower the pressure is to use a slower powder.
