Default The Angry Bee-

zatch.
I am a registered sporting clays shooter, as of the last 9 years. The last 5-6 years, shooting a purpose built Beretta 391, with a release trigger. (My pigeon gun is an SC3 Perazzi with a Allem's Release)
Some very special friends extended an invite for me to shoot the "Yoop Shoot", at Sagola Township, UP. Owning a few SxS's, including some fine old Parkers, I can't say no. Also, so as not to be miss-understood, I have no illusions of winning anything, just shooting the shoot, and having fun with some good friends. Having never shot clays with a SxS, and shooting a release trigger, poses some challenges. I have been shooting the local fun shoots the past couple of months under an assumed name, (Arthur du Bray) so as to not have the pressure of performance, and the worry of dragging my registered average down. I just want this to be a pure learning experience, with no pressure.
I shot the SC shoot at Mesquite Oasis yesterday (Saturday) with the Parker Underlifter hammer gun. (136 years old)
Wow! This is the magic gun. The dynamics are perfect for me, I like the tight chokes, the dimensions are perfect.
Tied for first place (HOA) with a 90x100, on a fairly tough course.
One of the guys came up to me, mid-course, and asked how it breaks targets, "like an angry b#tch!" was my answer.
I kinda like that name, "Angry B#tch", for a shotgun.
It will go the the Yoop with me.

This is the one, Underlifter No. 3130

Not a C Grade. This is a Numbers Grade gun.
I've been told it's a 250 dollar gun. (I'm not sure)
Some more Pics:

Todd, you're absolutely right - it is higher than a grade C and would be a dollar value gun.

Great shooting! I love the lifter Parkers as well, though mine are not as straight as yours. What shells did you use?

Todd,
There will be more than a few of us from this site at the U.P. Shoot. (maybe more, Eh Dave)
Look for a dark green, 4 door, GMC pickup with a topper. Stop by and say Hi.
We'd love to see your gun, meet you, and share a cold one with ya.

That's a great gun, obviously made for live pigeon shooting with that kind of cut to the stock. A killer for sure!

Those checkered ball grips just amaze me. Nice gun!

Todd,

Do you have any problem shooting a pull trigger?

I switched from right handed to left handed about 25 years ago so I could use my dominant eye but I couldn't get my left index finger to pull a trigger but no problems at all shooting a release. I once considered converting my SC trap gun to release but decided against it. I've been shooting the Parkers right handed with the left eye closed and I'm slowly getting better at it. Only flinched once or twice at the Southern this past week.

BTW, nice lifter.
