Default Parker butt plates

Yesterday, I had the privilege of examining a VH 12 ga. in excellent overall original condition. The serial number of this gun is 217xxx and has no extras and standard dimensions. The thing that caught my eye was that this gun was manufactured in 1926 and yet retains a flat butt plate while I was expecting a spurred one with the early serial number. Until yesterday I shared the opinion that flat butt plates did not appear this early by Parker Bros. Oh yes, this gun has been used, but not much. Most of you would be happy to replace your 12Ga. VH with this one, It is that nice and original.

The change to unspurred plates was around 1925-1927. So you are in the right era.
