Default Late DHE 20

While at our Headwaters Land Conservancy fundraiser, one of the participants cornered me and asked me to look at a D grade 20 gauge with 28" barrels (Guesstimated - no tape with me) The owner claimed that Mr. Henry Joy had been the president of Packard cars, and was a champion skeet shooter. My guess is that the guns has been refurbished (by Del Grego?). Too bad about the stock extension. The keels also looked a bit weird, but I didn't get a good picture of them ..

234905 Is the gun in the book?

The book says VHE 20 with 26" barrels. This gun went through Abercrombie & Fitch and Bob Beach could provide history.

It is an original DH, not an upgrade. The engraved pointer is period correct and the style is attributable to Frederick Anschutz who died in 1931.

Below is GH No. 235908 which was produced in 1931 and appears to have been engraved by Robert Runge Jr. who was Anschutz's successor.

Bob goes to great depths to produce an entire research package for the buyer.
