Treasure that dog! It's so hard to watch them age. Thank goodness they don't know it may be their last season. I'm sure you have some good memories with Milo (and a few more to come!).

Chad, I can relate to hunting with an old friend. My oldest setter is 13 and he just runs out of gas this year. I fear this may be his last hunting season. This morning I planned to go for a long run and intended to leave him home figuring it would be too much for him. He raised such a fuss I just could not let him behind so off we went. He ran quite well considering his age and pointed 3 woodcock. Unfortunately no grouse. Normally I do not shoot woodcock but just had to today for fear his last bird is in the not to distant future. A wonderful morning with the old guy doing his stuff.

GH and old dog
Wonderful pic of a dedicated hunting companion and a beautiful Parker. I have a Brittany 8 and I hug her everyday. She did a quail hunt yesterday and surprised me how well she pointed and retrieved in grass about even with her back!!. Lots of rain in south tx so conditions are tough. We still bagged 21 quail but all were tired after trudging through tall grass.

Thanks David, that GH 16 feels like a magic wand in my hands. I am contemplating a Brittany when Milo is all done, I don't think I will ever get another DD that would measure up to him in my eyes.

An old gun and an experienced dog go hand in hand. I remember well the old days with Daisy and Gunner. If your thinking of getting another dog do it now don't wait. It was 173 days between Daisy and Ike and those were the longest days of my life.
