Default Seasons over ...

Well Hunting for upland game here in our neck of the woods is over for another year ,was a great season ,didn't have many limits this year ,pretty good on Woodcock ,but great comraderie with old Hunting Buddies ! We are having a nice snow today and my Britts love to play in it ,so I decided to take them out for some fun !I think I can see Annie smiling in the last photo ! Best ; Russ

Good pictures and good thoughts Russ. Annie doesn't know yet that she's rompin' through her last hunt of the year but she'll know it soon enough.

Thanks for taking us all along on some of your hunts this season - it's been fun to read about them and look at your pictures. I hope to meet up with you at Hausmann's on June 1st - 3rd.

*pssst... bring along my favorite little CHE please*

There is something very spiritual about being out in the woods when it's snowing. My best hunt this year was really just a 'religious experience' and despite missing most of my shots, the sheer pleasure of quietly walking along with snow pinging off my nose, with 4 good friends made it what it was. I have heard golfers speak like this, and while I'll never understand why they spend hours chasing a little ball around the countryside, only to whack it into the woods and repeat the process all over again, I know the feeling the mind and body get from doing what you love,

well seasons about over forsquirls here in ole miss.. about 2 hours daylite left but im giving up squirl and crow till next year...got up early this morning got my little jack russel daisey and off too the woods we went....she only treed one time and i could not find it...it was truly not a day for squirl hunting nothing seenor heard in over 3 hrs of hunting...but i sure enjoyed the time spent with the little dog...got to see her do her first time of walking a footlog over a small creek...seen her do her first swimming epicode...last but not least she walked across a bridge the kind made for cattle not to walk...other words slats cut in bridge kinda scary for most animals...all inall was a good way to end the season...and did not have to clean my dinner..... get to rest now 16 days and ill be chasing turkeys.... charlie

Don't rest too long Charlie... you'll stiffen up. Go right after those longbeards soon as you can.
