Default found an old photo

A very nice Blacktail buck taken in 1970 in Western Oregon . Not a Parker but, a "Williams" British made 13 bore muzzleloading double. I loaded the right barrel with a patched round ball and the left with 9-00 buck ahead of 3 Drams of Dupont 3 F black.

I heard him coming and he and I saw each other at the same time while he was in mid jump. He hit the ground and jumped turning ninety degrees to my right at 32 steps. I swung like I was shooting quail and gave him the right barrel. Lost him in the brush and smoke but a few seconds later he wobbled out and tipped over about 40 yards away. Dead when I got to him. The ball had passed through the shoulders making a large hole in the lungs. He scored 121 points Boone & Crockett. Nine more inches/points and he would have made the book. Not too bad for my first Blacktail.

Sorry, but I just don't seem to have many pictures of game taken with my Parkers. Hope to cure that problem.

Very nice !

I'd like one decent Blacktail before I leave this world !

Columbian or Sitka it makes no difference .

Assuming that's your pop, he reminds me a little of Jerry Reed.

Parker or no that's a great hunting tale! And a great pic. Funny to think pics taken in 1970 as old pictures. Now get that Parker out there and tell us about it.

No in both cases. The young fellow on the left, Jerry Leal, is the nephew of the friend I was hunting with and the guy on the right, Bob Wolley, a friend of my friend.

I think this is my D grade ten bore, can't tell for sure but, I do know I shot some Sage Grouse with it a few years ago. I'm quite sure I don't have pictures of my other Parkers. I don't hunt with them all that often as they are all twelves except this one ten. I prefer the 16 bore for most birds and have a few of them by Remington and Ithaca.

Sorry about the poor photo we have since upgraded to a much better camera.
