Default Circa 1891 GH 12 gauge with Lyman pellet slug

Hunted with some friends in the adjacent county today .

Today and yesterday we did man drives pretty much the entire day !

On the second or third drive today I had an unfortunate fellow tip toe in my direction !

And I gave him the what for at 25-28 yards . At the boom of the gun he was DRT !

Used a Lyman home cast slug in a Claybuster AA12 wad .

The slug !

The deer is the white spot in front of me , I am sitting on the same log taking the pic that I was sitting when I fired at the deer .

To be totally honest the slug hit about four inches right of where I aimed .

The right barrel groups fairly well out to fifty yards , the left barrel not as much so .

That's my first with a slug in a smooth bore . Granted I've knocked off a few with rifled slug guns .

Nice kill, it is always cool to see people who take deer with an old SxS.

I have not gotten up the courage to take one out deer hunting as I don't like taking the chance with as few of times I get to go out hunting a season.
