Default Belgium Felix Funken find in Vegas

Vegas was as good as ever with many fine guns to look at. It seemed as though there were many good deals to be had for the patient buyer. I added a liege sidelock to my stash. It is a 12 gauge 25" ejector gun in like new condition. The gun was made in the 40's with the sides engraved by the head Browning engraver Felix Funken signed on the left lock and the bottom by Leon LeMaitre signed in the landscape below the rock on the right as you look at it, I have found some reference to him as well.

Happy Sunday to everyone!

Very nice Belgium gun who was the maker? And what does the gun weigh? If you don't mind what did the gun cost you? I love Belgium guns especially Francottes which I own quite a few but I own a Mahillon 20 with side plates with purvey rose and scroll and the engraving will stand up to any English gun

Brian, that is a gorgeous gun! As a longtime Browning fan and the previous owner of several Funken-engraved Superposeds (including the very best pre-War Grade V ever!), I have never seen a SxS done by him. And I see the same "tableau schism" on this gun that we see on SO many high-grade Parkers - lovely birds and dogs on the sides and a pair of musky old elk or stags on the floorplate!!

A setter "setting". You don't see that very often.

Brian, congrats, that is a beautiful gun I love the setter on the trigger guard.
