Default A new one for me

Was at Gulf Coast Clays east of Naples, FL today, shooting with my grandson and his friend. There were brush fires burning a mile or so away when we arrived, and they were getting closer to Route 41, We had gotten to station 4 when the ranger came by and said that there was a good chance R41 would be closing shortly, so we were advised to terminate the shoot. First time I've been burned off a course. I was doing pretty well with my DHE, but my grandson ( a lefty Master Class Clays shooter) still beat me shooting my righty K80. Jeez it seems like only yesterday I was changing his diaper.

That's the way it's supposed to be John.

I remind myself of that every time I take my two sons out bird hunting, Dean. I work at this stuff all year long, and these two knuckleheads make it look easy!

Does your K80 get much use? I have a fancy Caesar Guerini that I have not shot for almost two years, yet am hesitant to sell. I shoot sporting clays every week using a Parker. My VHE with 30 inch barrels served me well during a registered shoot this past weekend (until I did a swan dive on the last three stations). What’s your take on keeping an O/U after the SxS bug has bitten hard?

If I sold my competition guns, I'd have a lot more room for Parkers. The trouble is that there is no market for them.

Whether you need them or not there's a lot to be said for having Krieghoff's and Belgium Brownings !

I shoot the K gun and a 3200 better than the DHE, but I'm stubborn enough to keep trying. We all know folks who can shoot the lights out with a S x S, but millions of competitive shooters can't be wrong. O/U's are better target machines

That's what I am thinking. If/when the opportunity presents itself, the Caesar Guerini should be swapped out for an even prettier 12 gauge DHE+ with PG, 32/34 inch fluid steel barrels, and a red pad. The perfect sporting clays gun, in my opinion.

My DHE is close to your ideal gun. 2 frame, 32" leather covered pad SFE. Only thing I would change is I would prefer a BTFE
