Looks like a wonderful family heirloom.
Looks to me that the Remington repair code on the left barrel flat is KH3 K = May H = 1939. By the next time H was the year code, 1961, Remington was out of the Parker repair business. Unfortunately, there are no surviving records of what the repair was.
