"A" and "7" are not contradictory markings, Edgar. I own such a gun and, as I recall, The Parker Story explains the situation. After Grade 7 was offered, again, as I recall, there was no AA grade and A was the marking on the flat. The serialization book entries are determined by the price of the gun and the steel type listed in the order book. They are all over the map on Damascus guns because Damascus guns go all the way from Grade 1 to Grade 7, leaving only the price to determine grade. I can't wait for the pictures.
