One of my high-school friends used to pick me up some mornings in his channeled '34 Ford pickup with a Olds 394 cid with six 97's and a LaSalle transmission. (Why am I even still here?) Rainy days were the worst..... there was no cover plate in the floor over the transmission and when he hit a puddle water would splash onto the headers and the cab would fill up with steam

Today it would be called a "rat rod"
