I am thinking that if you can hit a clay pigeon at 30 to 35 yds and make little pieces out of it ,I don't see too many grouse getting past that pattern in a "hole" I used 1oz 6's in the past with a 20 ga so I wouldn't hit it with too many pellets. but 7/8ths oz of 7's or 7 1/2's at 1150 work wonders.
