Andy just my thought on this. Return it. There are lots of reconditioned nice DH Parkers that you can buy for less money than what you can wrap up in this gun.
My suggestion if you want a good Parker, join the PGCA and place an ad in the want to buy section.
You will get several great guns offered to you at a fair price.

I should have clarified, this was based on having a new stock built. Lots of repairs have been done to broken stocks and hold up great. I have a reproduction 20 gauge that was broken in half and was properly repaired and despite a fall afterwards still not cracked, just some ugly dings in the stock.
