The letter made no mention of butt plate preference. I can point out another 1882 Grade 3 with a Dogs Head Butt Plate. It’s a Puglisi listing. I wonder if the Skeleton Plate was as standard as we are led to believe. However, with its
13-1/2” LOP it may not be a valid example.
