It was so rusty from having been used in the rain and never cleaned; as you know bluing is used as a rust preventative, so i put the safety button and forend hardware in with the triggers and trigger guard, as well as the sear pin, and a few other pieces into the nitre bluing. Left the receiver polished as it had so much patina on it I thought it would never be cleaned. It is a nice rainy-day gun now with a little protection. There was no case-coloring left on a single piece. See the pictures on page one. These make nice gifts for a youngster whom I feel can appreciate them as I grow old and unable to hunt.
