I have used a set of horse combs (medium and a bit fine) to remove beggars tick for some time. As to the "porcupine eggs", I carried a small squeeze bottle of baby oil. One good drop on the cockle burr and it usually came right out with a coarse comb. Dont over do the oil. "Just a little dab will do ya." (Anyone remember that one ?) It takes a time or three to get an idea of how much to use.
