Late season Michigan preserve hunt

I was fortunate to be invited along on a great weekend trip to Meemo's Farm near Evart, MI for some target shooting on Friday and a pheasant hunt on Saturday. Meemo's is a pretty cool place with great grounds, meals and lodging. The lodge we stayed in was over the top and included 2 bowling lanes in the walk out lower level. Here's a picture late in the hunt of 5 Parkers (see what I did there ), a few pheasants and a couple of old Labs that can still find birds.

I see what you did there!

Would the 5th Parker be Steve?

[B]Not to steal your thread, but here is a photo of x Mike Bachkosky's 'Timber', a pointing Lab enjoying her 12th year of retirement life in GA; rounding up quail singles that the GSP's leave behind.(hard to see her in photo) A fair percentage of the hundred plus birds were shot with W.O.Odom's upgraded BHE 410, which was the pass around gun this year down in GA. Yes, Old Labs can't be beat for old farts. This is the first year she benefited from carprofin and the old man from a touch of Oxy. She found a covey that the GSP's overran, and the 410 got me a double on the rise. Ahhhhhh, Life is Good, then we Croak! Thank You Russ for the BHE with woodcock photo.B]

WOW! BHE 410. That is tall cotton brother. Looks like a wonderful get together. I don’t see the lab anywhere though.

Always good to get out, and with your old friend, it makes it even sweeter. I hope you both get out again in the near future. Cherish the time!

Look close at the feet of the old fart on the left side of the photo, like most Labs, she is looking away from the camera. I will see if I have another photo of just her. I just cropped her from the orig. photo. Cell phones don't do a great job with super bright sun lit days when used as a point and shoot deal. Sorry for the lousy photo. Take Care and Thank You for the 'Thanks' received.

I see the old “sugar face” now. Labs are a wonderful and incredibly versatile breed. If I had to kill game to eat, my breed of choice would a lab or 2.
