Who makes guns chambered for a 2 inch 12 ga?

Currently reading Doug's Side x Side book and enjoying it. In it he talks about the english making 12 ga with 2 inch chambers and how effective they are. Always a fan of the mighty 12 I have done a little searching for 2 inchchambered 12 ga guns and so far have come up empty.

Bill,

The 2" 12 is no longer being made; although Woodcock Hill advertises Tony White will make one. There were not a lot made to begin with and they were popular in the 1930s. The majority of boxlock guns were made by Skim'n and Wood. They sold the actions to other makers. You can find 2" guns from Westley Richards, WJ Jeffery, Churchill, CS Rosson, etc. Some makers also built their own 2" guns on their sidelock actions (e.g., Holland & Holland, Purdey, and Churchill). Most of these guns weighed 5lbs 4oz to 5lbs 10oz.

In the late 1990s Arrieta made some 2" 12 gauge guns, but these weighed 5 3/4 to 6lbs.

Thanks, did some digging on those makers and found some, all out of my price range at this time, but something to consider in the future maybe.

Well when my renewal goes through (snail mail, not Mary's fault) I will check them out.

The Spanish makers...AYA...Grulla...etc. made them upon request. There is a Grulla Consort on the Griffin and Howe website that was originally made with 2" chambers, that have since been opened to 2 3/4". The puzzling thing about that gun is that they used standard weight barrels. Not sure why anyone would order a 7 pound gun with 2" chambers.

A life membership will eliminate the chances of this happening again.

Hence the use of snail mail for payment as opposed to credit card.
