Kent Tungstin Matrix

I'm wondering if Kent Tungstin Matrix (3") would be suitable
In 1924 LC Smith long range 12g.? I would like to use the gun
For duck and geese. Shotgun is in great shape, but I'm a bit
Conserned about pressure and scoring barrels or worse. Jim P

I have used it is my Parkers with no problem. It is similar to bismuth.

Thanks for input. How about pressures? The guns built like a
Tank, just figure it's good to get opinions.

I used it with great effect to the ducks in an LC Long Range. As for its pressure, just do not shoot thousands of rounds of this load every season.

Kent TI is soft and cannot score a barrel. Further, mist if not all good non-toxic loads including steel shot have wad petals so thick that NO shot could puncture them to reach a barrel wall! A lot has changed since the rumor generating first generation steel shot.

I use the 2 3/4 in my 2e 12 with no issue..it's real good stuff

Are we talking steel barrels or damascus that you are shooting this in? Gary

London armory steel. I talked to a gunsmith about the steel in the
Barrels his reply was: You can shoot anything you want, the
Steel in the barrels was better than what we have today.
Thanks again for the input. Jim P

I've shot thousands of rounds of Kent TM at waterfowl out of vintage guns of all types. Good stuff, expensive, but it kills them like lead.

I agree with Destry. KTM is excellent stuff. I've put a lot of it through my Parkers and it does do the job. Just can't ever find it up here if there's a current generation of it. Have had to go to "Classic Doubles" ammo which I can find.

There is a current generation of the stuff but it's priced a bit high. I just managed to find 100 rounds of the 1 3//8 ounce #5 in 2 3/4 and was glad to get it at $26 per 10 pack if you can believe it.
