Trojan buttplate question.

Who makes the best reproduction Trojan buttplates? My 2 frame still has the original uncut curved butt. Also, any source of correct screws for it? The wood on mine measures 5 7/32" X 1 20/32" and the distance between holes is 2 25/32".

Joe are you absolutely sure you got your dimensions right?

This Galazan reproduction Trojan Butt Plate, albeit with slightly smaller dimensions than what you posted, worked perfectly as a replacement for my 12-ga. 2-frame Trojan. Galazan says theirs is made from hard rubber just like the originals were. When I was in the market for a reproduction butt plate I found that other suppliers were using hard plastic rather than hard rubber.

No, I'm dead on with the measurements. I do wonder how accurate Galazan's measurements are. Well, I can hope, can't I? Thanks so much for your response.

Joe, your comment about the accuracy of Galazan's stated dimensions led me to a take another look at the the Galazan butt plate on my Trojan. The butt plate (not the wood), with a micrometer measures 1.641" wd. x 5.208" tall with a 2.690" hole spacing. The link I supplied above I thought was the one I have, but upon further examination looks like this one rather than the linked one above. (Note the difference in the amount of horizontal lines.):

Joe, how nice is your Trojan? I have a butt plate exactly as you describe but it sure isn't pristine. If you want it I'll send it to you... Let me know.

PS... No charge

Dean, I would love to have your Trojan buttplate. My gun is in pretty nice condition with about 60% case color. But your buttplate would beat any reproduction that has to have major grafting to fit.

Thanks so much for the offer!

To many sellers, any buttplate with lines is a Trojan, Fox, L.C. Smth, Savage buttplate. We must count the lines, measure the screw spacing, and examine the configuration of the screw area. They are all the same, but they are all different.

I'll send it in the morning.
