Federal Grand Master paper hulls.
Are the 3 dram, 1 1/8 oz loads safe to use in a good solid Trojan? Thank you.

Absolutely! One of the finest shells made and they smell so good!

Since I bought a case of them that is extremely good news. Thank you so much.

I use the Federal Paper Grand, 2 3/4 dram (1 1/8 of #8 shot) for registered trap singles. I reload them with 1 oz. of #8 shot and use those for practice and for the first shot in registered doubles and Federal Paper Grand 3 dram (1 1/8 of #8 shot) for the second shot. I have shot the Federal Paper Grand 3 dram #8 shot for registered handicap but I prefer RST Paper Trap Loads (3 dram 1 1/8 of #7.5 shot). The paper shells to me seem to shoot a bit softer and the Federal Grands are great for reloading.
I shoot a Parker SBT for singles and handicap and a Parker GHE for doubles trap. |
John, could you mention the rest of your 1 oz. #8 shot recipe? I just bought 650 once fired of the Federal paper hulls and haven't check into loads yet. Thanks.

I shoot my 3 dram, 1 1/8 ounce Federal papers at Trap, Eurasians, and as my first barrel Pheasant load. I then reload them with a Federal 209A primer, 18.4 grains of Clays, Winchester WAA12SL and 7/8 ounce of shot, which the book says is 1200 fps. My brain is happiest at 1200 fps.

You might notice the recoil if shooting 100 or so at one time. Know I would.
