1887 Parker ad in American Field

While researching Llewellin setters from the late 1800’s I picked up a few old, and I mean old, American Field magazines from the the 1880’s. Here is a photo of a 1887 Parker ad that appeared in the October 1st issue. Interesting to note that Parker had only one ad in this issue while Baker, L.C. Smith, Ithaca, Charles Daly, Winchester and a few others had several ads each. Also advertised was a Winchester “Repeating Shotgun” lever action 12 gauge/6 shot with 30” roll steel barrel which I’ve never seen/heard of before.

Neat find Tom. A similar ad appeared in "The Independent", 10-6-1887

The Winchester barrels were "cold rolled" decarbonized steel
