That your new quail gun , Mills??
Seriously, nice gun.

Mills Morrison 02-28-2019 04:12 PM

Not quite a quail gun, but turkeys maybe. At over 11 pounds, it is the second heaviest Parker I own, next to the 8 gauge

Gary Carmichael Sr 02-28-2019 04:15 PM

Mills that is a big gun! It sure would do well with ducks coming into flooded timber Gary

Mark Ray 02-28-2019 04:24 PM

Just think what that behemoth would do to that poor snipe engraved on the floorplate. Would sure hate to carry that sucker all day on the mudflats!

Craig Larter 02-28-2019 04:54 PM

Mills how long are the barrels, how is it choked. Grade 2 correct?
We all have a hard time keeping pace with your purchases, how many so far in 2019. Congrats. Craig Larter

Mills, have you received the PGCA letter?

charlie cleveland 02-28-2019 05:52 PM

Randy G Roberts 02-28-2019 08:14 PM

Your kinda gun and really nice wood also. Good score on that one Mills.

Mills Morrison 03-01-2019 09:41 AM

Barrels are 32 inches. It is actually a 2018 purchase but just got around to pictures.

Jay Oliver 03-01-2019 06:50 PM

What a great find Mills! That is a heck of a nice 10 gauge! I like everything about it. I also like seeing hammer guns with brass shells close by :)

Mills Morrison 03-01-2019 07:09 PM

The letter says it was ordered by Carlos Gove who was a famous gunmaker in Denver, Colorado back in the old days. Kind of cool.

CraigThompson 03-16-2019 04:54 PM

If you don’t mind saying , was the person you got it from in Colorado or ?

Mills Morrison 03-16-2019 05:59 PM

Pawn shop on the west coast. Oregon or Washington

Bill Murphy 03-25-2019 04:32 PM

Gove made wonderful guns, especially custom modified Springfield trapdoors that rival modern custom rifles.

Mills Morrison 03-25-2019 05:07 PM

I found a few pictures online.

Any information is appreciated

Bill Murphy 03-26-2019 08:28 AM

Go on doublegunshop.com, the "single barrel and custom rifle" subforum. Someone on there will know about Gove, I hope. I searched "Gove" on that subforum and got a bunch of hits. S.D. Hughes, (I believe), Michael Petrov and I created that great subforum with the permission and assistance of webmaster Dave Weber several years ago. The search netted some pictures.

Mills Morrison 03-26-2019 08:59 AM

Thanks Bill. Some interesting info there and photos. I saw the comment that most of the info on Gove is out there and has been repeated over and over. That is what I have found in my brief search since getting this gun.

I found some suggestion that he was a competitive shooter and wonder if this 10 gauge could have been used for competitions? It seems he liked heavy guns and this 10 gauge is indeed heavy
