Connecticut Fox shotguns
I was looking at a Fox 28 gauge (FE grade) made by Connecticut shotgun. Has anybody owned or know the particulars of these shotguns? The pictures look nice on the internet but usually don't tell the whole story. Does the engraving and case look as good in person and is the engraving done by hand? Are these guns mechanically sound with any problems? I haven't seen one of these in person but for $30000+ I'd like to make sure they are worth the money. Thanks!

They are beautifully fitted and finished Fox shotguns. I love them, I just can't afford them.
I know Rich Anderson has one or two and Larry Frey had one some years back. Of any non-Parker gun I would would be proud to own a 28 ghauge CSMC Fox. . |
Here's a DE 28 with interchangeable forends for either 28" or 30" barrels

They are GREAT guns!! Everything is top quality. And most importantly they are great shooters.
Bob Jurewicz PS Bobby Cash (Pay Dirt) has a great CE 2 barrel set for sale here and on GI. |
Perfectly fit, well balanced, and with beautiful engraving. I've owned my 16 gauge XE for many years and it is a very well made gun. I visited Tony at his factory and saw the guns being made. It was worth the plane fare.
If you are going to get one, order one with your own specifications. I had my dog engraved on the bottom of the receiver, and the gun was made to be under 6 lbs. with 29 inch barrels -- just as I requested. |
I’ve had a 20 gauge XE that I ordered in 1994. I have hunted it hard all these years. Just had it brought back to new by CSMC last year. Glad I purchased it.

Thanks for the replies! These look like they are very nice well built guns that also preform in the field as well. Seems from your post that all of you were more than satisfied.

Sorry, John, I know I'm beating the dead horse, but here are a couple of shots of my CSMC Fox 16 (and a blue/dusky grouse taken with it from a trip to Montana).
