Upper tang screw question

I have a trap gun with a double-locking upper tang screw. I'm talking about the screw that resides under the top lever.
This particular gun has a second screw, that mates with a notch in the main screw.
How common is this, and where do I go get replacements?

What grade is your gun? Single barrel trap or a trap configured double?

I had opened a thread not long ago about tang locking screws (or french locks) on high grade guns. When they are seen, it usually is on higher grade guns.

As far as the availability of them for replacements. The large tang screw is the same as a normal parker, it just has the cut in it for the lock screw. A replacement screw would have to be fitted to the gun.
I cannot say for sure, but I would speculate that the small lock screw is likely the same sized screw that is used to lock the hammer screws on the side of the frame.

Brian, It's a VHE. Same gun as I referenced in the Vent Rib thread. The lock screw is missing, and the main screw is a replacement, that needs to be fitted.
A couple other issues with this gun; It has a single selective (Parker) trigger. When set to the right bbl, works fine. When set to left bbl first, it doesn't fire.
Also, the hammer has to be dropped, before the barrels are released, when dismounting the bbls.

Oh, and it's a double barrel.

Do you have a letter on the gun? I would be curious to know if it mentions anything about the locking tang screw.

Sounds like the gun has been messed with a bit or just needs a good cleaning. Not a surprise for a trap gun.

In my trade the arrangement is called “Dutchmen”
