New Member New Parker Owner

Hello,
I am a semi retired veterinarian and a new member. I have always been interested in Parkers and owned a Parker Reproduction in 28ga several years ago (no longer have it). But today I purchased my first Vintage Parker. A 16ga on an O frame. SWEET. I would like to know more about it. The serial # is 153768 Has a large V on the frame and above it is an oblong circle with what looks like a VM. I con't find much info for a V grade. I saw info on VH but not on a V by itself
I tried to joint on the PGCA online tonight but couldn't get the payment system to come up so I am sending in a paper application that I downloaded.
I have already enjoyed reading several post. You guys/gals sure have a lot of shotgun knowledge.
Gerald

Hello Gerald and Welcome!

Please post a couple of pictures of the markings you mention - in fact, please post several pictures of your 'new' Parker.

a V is a VH - the H just means hammerless - some grades began in the hammer gun days, so the H is used to differencate the two

And welcome - are the barrels 28 or 26 ? great upland gun

I has 26 inch barrels and I,m told it is bored Imp Cyl both barrels. I will try to send some pictures tomorrow. I'm having to care for my paralyzed 85 yr old father tonight

Thank for your interest and Amen to Aspen,Woodcock, and Bird dogs

And I thank you for being a dutiful son. I nursed my 83-year-old father alone for the last year of his life. The best of times and worst of times, I wouldn't have missed it for anything.

I am currently doing the same for my 83 year old father. I believe a 30 year navy/marine vet deserves more than I can provide, but I do my best and am more than happy to be here for him.
