I have an inherited Parker from my grandfather that has been sitting in the safe for 20 years. It appears to be in good working order. I haven't taken it to a gunsmith to have it looked at yet as we don't have a professional in the area.

It's dated 1902 going by the serial #, frame size of 2, barrel weight of 41 and grade P with a twist barrel. Pictures are included below.

I do some reloading so when I can get someone to look at it and ensure it's safe to shoot, I will inquire about some appropriate loads and get it out and put it through it's paces. I'm also planning to get a value for insurance purposes.

I'd love to hear feedback from other owners on care and feeding.

Welcome Rick! You will find a wealth of knowledge on this site to help with getting your Parker back in the field. Sounds like you are on the right track with getting it checked out and then getting appropriate loads.

Hi Rick, welcome to the Parker world. The SN would let us check in the Serialization Book (if listed) for original specs. You can check on the Home page to see if there are additional records available, and if so obtain a letter on it.
If the bores are in good shape and it is tight (looks like it might be a bit off face) should be good to shoot with low pressure loads. I generally try to keep pressures under 7K psi. and have achieved less than 6.
It would be good to have a smith look at it, but some of them just take an automatic position of "damascus isn't safe to shoot". Proven wrong many times.

A membership here will get you a nice discount on the letter, and access to a rich Parker environment unmatched anywhere else.
