Old time repair

So, here's one method whereby gents in long ago days might repair a crease/tear/hole in a composite barrel = braze overlay. Easily done by anyone that had an oxyacetylene torch. This one is a nice smooth job with plenty of new wall thickness!

Looks better than the arc welded crack on a set of Lefever 20 gauge barrels I have.

Fluid steel small hole with an attempted repair by dropping beads of welding rod - the barrel was apparently used thereafter and it didn't last

Took some trying, but a better view of the bore and blow out. Impressive linear tool marks; trying to file down the weld?

Drew, where along the barrel did that rupture occur?

It was a segment I received as part of my composition and tensile strength study Dean. Not sure how close to the breech.
