The gun that started the madness

In February 2012 I bought this hammer gun which turned me into a Parker guy. The metal was in the white and ready for refinish with clean screws and a good butt stock. After a few recommendations I set the gun to Brad Bachelder for refinish, the forearm was replaced, the butt plate was replaced, a few rough spots were micro welded and the engraving retouched. The barrel set on it was in 20 gauge which was the original mono block sleeved to 26" so Brad found and added a set of 16 gauge 28" twist barrels pictured. I picked the gun up last Monday and below are a few pictures.

It is a high quality restoration and it shoots like a dream.

Very nicely done! Just as expected from Bachelder's shop.

Again, Brian, just fantastic. Brad is a genius

That would've made old Charles Parker himself proud.

Just as with beautifully and fully restored cars, maybe a finer finish and attention to detail than the factory did.

I forgot to give the guns original configuration, 50377 was recorded as a 16ga with 36" barrels. The gun was part of a large order by E.C. Meacham Arms Co. The gun was part of 39 guns, all 16ga 36" with plain twist barrels. After these 39 guns, the order continued with more 16ga, 36" guns but with Damascus barrels, then 16 ga guns with 32" barrels. Everything on that order was 16 ga guns I have one of its brothers as well, 50375 in the original configuration 16 gauge 36" twist barrel you have seen in one of my older posts.

Thank you Mr. Bishop for this detailed information. Buy your letters Parker fans, there is a lot of interesting info out there.

Brad has redone a couple of guns for me - just great work.

Brian, you've got the bug real bad. You keep me real busy.

Brian I have a 16ga hammer gun with 32 inch barrels. Perhaps it came from the order you mentioned. I can PM you the serial number if your interested.
