Very nice. I have only seen a few Parker clocks
One more rabbit hole I could end up going down :corn: |
Very cool. Would love to have one like that.
|
reall nice clock...charlie

I have the same model. I love it. It goes perfectly with my pieces of mission furniture. The mechanism is the typical alarm clock of the period. The wind lasts about a day and a half.
|
What are the dimensions of the clock stand itself?
. |
Mine is packed up for my move. But jerry's height sounds right for the overall height of the stand.
|
Dean..It's about 11 1/2" tall..and the base is about 5x4 inches.
|
Only a day and a half wind... I have several wind up table clocks from the same period and they have a 7-10 day wind and chime. Why was Parker clock wind duration so short?
|
It is an alarm clock. You would wind it each day after turning the alarm off on waking.
Less expensive of a mechanism too i am sure. |

I tried but I can't.

a quick search shows envelopes like that for sale with post marks in the 1907-1909 era |
If that is a Postcard rate my research shows a couple of time periods, July 1885 to July 1898 when it dropped to 1 cent. Back to 2 cents in mid 1917 until mid 1919 (war years) then lowered back to 1 cent after the war.
It was again at 2 cents from 1952 until Aug. 1958. |
See. You need a stamp geek. :rotf:
