Front bead size

Questions for the experts here:

What is the size (diameter) of the muzzle end bead on a 215xxx gun?

Are these typically threaded or tapered for a press fit?

I'm about to pull the trigger on a nice SC but it needs a new front bead.

Any recommendations for sourcing a replacement?

Thanks in advance,
Jeremy

Have on made of mammoth ivory - it is relatively plentiful and makes an excellent bead for a trap gun.

Abe Chaber in CT made and installed one for me and I'm very pleased with it.

NEG sells the mammoth beads; my only complaint with that is when I tried to order one the shipping was as much as the bead! I got my last one from Brownell's (same product). You may have to work the shaft down to fit the hole. If the bead is larger than I want I chuck it in my Dremel and use a fine file or fine sandpaper to turn it down to the size I want.

Oh, and we'll definitely want to see some pictures of that SC when it gets home!
