16 Gauge Question

On a Trojan 16, 195609, wondering original barrel length and frame size?

Thanks in advance.

Dean Romig 09-30-2019 04:13 PM

28-inch built on the 1 frame.

Thanks for your comments Dean

I was worried about the barrel length, this has not been cut then.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Is it safe to assume all 16 Trojans were built on #1 frames ?

ED J, MORGAN 09-30-2019 10:35 PM

No. There are 16s on 0 frame and prob others.

I’m just asking about Trojans not the other grades .

Dean Romig 10-01-2019 06:18 AM

All Trojan 16’s were built on the no. 1 frame just as all Trojan 12’s were built on the 2 frame and all Trojan 20’s were built on the 0 frame.

As a general rule... YES. But there are a few exceptions. A batch of 1 frame 12g. Trojans were made. With twist barrel no less.
I actually handled one that walked into the VGC last weekend.

Weren't those Trojans with Twist barrels all sent to Japan or some place in the Far East?

Thanks Dean for the info on this Trojan

I ended up passing on this one at a local auction. I did physically look at the gun today, screws all looked good, barrels were well worn finish wise, stock was listed with small crack at the receiver. With premium and sale tax and paperwork fee I would have had a little over $700 in it and would still require a pad to fit me for LOP.
Still watching and learning.

Sometimes we take calculated risks on these old Parkers... especially with prices like $700 all included.

We wait a long time sometimes for a decent Parker to come along at $700.
