Repro Barrel Wall Thickness
Just curious. Much has been said regarding original Parker barrel wall thickness but I do not recall any discussion regarding same on repros. Since repros tend to be heavier and were advertised as safe for steel shot it seems the barrel walls might be a bit heavier. Has anyone measured them? I would be particularly interested in 20 ga. as that is mostly what I have.

Interesting question although I would think wall thickness would be the same, regardless of gauge. The question is what are factory wall thicknesses for reproductions?

I am somewhat surprised that no one that has a repro and a wall thickness gauge has replied.

No gauge here. I'd also hazard a guess that the lack of response is due to the fact that there just aren't that many Repro's out there where wall thickness is a concern. Considering the chrome lining, relatively short life of the hardware, and changed demographic that's occurred over the yrs resulting in different use compared to yrs past, it doesn't surprise me at all.

Got that gun from Gerry Addison here a while back. Chokes and weight were my motivation to own this one. Plus, it has double triggers and long LOP.

Now I have to get my 12 out and weigh it. Curiousity is overwhelming.

I remember that one - weight, or lack of must be all in the wood. How does it balance in hand, Bob?
