Hidden Hollow Next Weekend

The PGCA will have our customary display tables set up in the main tent again this year. The theme for this year will be 20 gauge guns. If any members have a 20 gauge that they would like to display for the day or all weekend bring it on over and we will happily accommodate you. See you all soon......

Rich Anderson 05-30-2016 06:15 PM

Dave I'll bring three

George M. Purtill 05-30-2016 08:39 PM

I myself would like to see Rich Anderson on display in our booth with 3 twenty gauge guns. If he has to be a member of the PGCA to display himself, I will pay half of his membership dues and would be honored to do so. I bet I can find someone else to pay the other half.
I have a couple cased A&F 20 gauge guns to display if you want them David. And I can bring the Governor's 20 DHE that matches his 410 DHE. Whatever you want David.

Rich Anderson 05-30-2016 09:24 PM

Dave you mentioned long barreled guns on the phone. If short ones are ok I can probable fit the Damascus CHE 26in 20 IN. My thoughts are a DHE 30 inch gun with all the options, a CHE 28 inch gun and a surprise 20. I have a GH 30 inch Damascus that was refinished by Turnbull as well. Let me know what to bring but keep in mind I leave Wed early am.

George thanks for the offer but I don't believe you have to be a member to display Parker guns.

Dave Suponski 05-30-2016 09:38 PM

Rich, The first three would be fine.

George, The Governors gun would be great. Don't know if we will have space for all the cased guns.

Guy's thanks for helping out....

Eric Eis 05-30-2016 09:44 PM

I've got that 20 ga P 1 1/2 frame gun if you would like it, not the greatest condition but.... Also have a two barrel set DH 20 and 16 Damascus that letters if that might be of interest.

Dave Suponski 05-30-2016 09:58 PM

Eric, The 1 1/2 frame 20 would be very cool to display....Thanks...

Dean Romig 05-30-2016 10:05 PM

I'll bring Admiral Perry's Damascus DH 20 if you think there'll be room.

.

George M. Purtill 05-30-2016 10:11 PM

Bring them all and Dave can rotate them as he sees fit.

Daryl Corona 05-30-2016 11:41 PM

OP:
I'll bring the W.R. Crosby 30" no safety 20 with the letter gifting the gun to him from PB, or my 32" flat rib 20 if you are interested.

Dean Romig 05-30-2016 11:58 PM

I would surely like to see your 32" flat .

.

Daryl Corona 05-31-2016 12:05 AM

I'll bring it Dean. I'll also bring the last P 20 made.

Dean Romig 05-31-2016 12:07 AM

I've seen that one Daryl - what a beauty!

.

Dave Suponski 05-31-2016 07:08 AM

Thanks Daryl!

Mills Morrison 06-03-2016 10:59 AM

Everybody have fun this weekend.

Gary Carmichael Sr 06-04-2016 12:10 PM

Where is Hidden Hollow? gary

Rick Losey 06-04-2016 08:12 PM

it's hidden

in Friendsville PA

George M. Purtill 06-04-2016 10:14 PM

And I had great fun with Rick Losey shooting 5 stand with his booming TEN gauge hammer gun!!

Rick Losey 06-04-2016 10:28 PM

thanks George - sorry about any hearing loss

its the same load I fire in other 10's - I can only assume was a combination of short barrels and being under a roof

http://parkerguns.org/forums/picture...pictureid=7948

on the other hand - if I can drop birds with the concussion - I won't have to pick out shot :corn:

Rich Anderson 06-06-2016 05:20 PM

What a great weekend! Ernie put in new traps and controls, made some new shooting stands and threw great targets. A BIG improvement over last year. A couple of us shot Rock Mtn Thursday am and again on Sunday just barely beating out the rain. It's a great course and IMHO ranks right up there with Drakes Landing.

Dave Suponski 06-07-2016 10:44 AM

I agree. The sign up area was much better organized. Cart placement and the id tags on the carts was a great idea combine that with the new machines and shooting station boxes brought this shoot to a new level. What a great weekend!

The shoot was great, what a difference one year makes:corn:. The targets were all hit able (not sure how to spell that word....! ) but I sure as hell couldn't hit some of them....:banghead:

An aside note, I'm sorry Dave I didn't bring the P grade 20ga, 1 1/2 frame gun down to the display, but I shot it all weekend. Because all of the guys said I shot it better then any other gun I owned...

Dave Suponski 06-07-2016 11:42 AM

No problem Eric I understand completely :)

All the more reason you early season grouse hunters should give the "hatchlings" a break and get your arrrrrrr**es to THE ROCK in September!!
Plans already underway for a collector's group cocktail/hors d'oeuvre gala immediately following Team Fox's marrow sucking victory at FPC V on Saturday!
(Oops, sorry. Please excuse Lord Rollingham's crystal ball indicator.)

Rich Anderson 06-07-2016 05:29 PM

If I draw deer and antelope tags for Wyoming I'll be leaving the end of Sept. If I don't draw the tags I'll be heading to The Rock in Sept. Either way I'm going somewhere in September:rotf:

By mid October however I'll be in the Upper Peninsula chasing Grouse & Woodcock through the first week in November. A new Grouse gun followed me home from Hausmanns:shock: Deer season (rifle) starts November 15-30 there are two new ones to be bloodied. Then the fall is over already, where did it go????

Harold Lee Pickens 06-08-2016 10:07 AM

so Rich, what is this new grouse gun, you left us hanging

Mills Morrison 06-08-2016 10:19 AM

Yes, inquiring minds want to see pictures:whistle:

I almost escaped Hausmanns without adding anything to the menagerie of sporting arms what with the over indulgence from the Southern. A casual stroll among the tables of fine guns revealed this little gem, a Francotte 20E 20ga 26 inch barrels choked IC/M and she weighs a scant 5 1/2 lbs.

Mills Morrison 06-08-2016 10:53 AM

Very nice find! None of us believe you could escape the Southern without buying something

Folks, do not feel sorry for Rich, even with that gem (and it is...) he still walked away with money in his pocket  In all my travels with COB I can not remember such a time, he is usually trying to figure out how to sell his blood, instead this time he came back with cash in his pocket...

I wasn't so lucky.......

The ability to post pictures is obviously a perishable skill so here is try #2. The gun also came in a nice trunk case.

Did I NEED another grouse gun??? It's better to have one to many than one to few......isn't it???

Mills I have been going to the Southern for almost 15ys and have always left there with at least one gun usually two. This year was the bonus year in that afterwards I scored on the BHE 20 32 inch gem. It was well worth the financial scramble:)

Have you been doing OK with just one kidney? :)

Rich Anderson 06-08-2016 02:17 PM

I still have both but I'm saving one for a small bore Purdy:)

Rich, that gun really needs a nice leather covered pad.

Rich Anderson 06-08-2016 05:55 PM

Your right Dean. It also can use to have the checkering recut as it's pretty worn. My smith's checkering tool is out for a rebuild (thankfully he got the rifle checkered first) so then I'll do both tasks. She is light and lively. Maybe I'll take her to the Wisconsin shoot next weekend and do "the grouse walk" with her just to try her out.

Maybe I'll call her Frannie??

Maybe take her... Give me a break....:rotf::rotf::rotf: That now makes what, 9 guns going to Wisconsin

Brian Dudley 06-10-2016 03:44 PM

The new Geouse Walk at Ernies looked very interesting. I wanted to try it out, but didnt get the chance.

Dean Romig 06-10-2016 04:58 PM

I wasn't impressed with it...
