Jim DiSpagno 04-02-2019 08:04 PM

Yes they did, in the lifter, top lever Hammergun, and in hammerless models

Gary Carmichael Sr 04-05-2019 01:30 PM

Correct me if I am wrong, They made 8,10,11,12,13,14,16,24, and then of course the 11-B, 12B etc, Gary

They did make 14 gauges and I saw a picture of someone with a 14 gauge DH on here or one of the old gun Facebook groups recently

And Parker Brothers made one 18 gauge that I know of. I had the opportunity to buy it several years ago. It even came with a box of 18 gauge shells but one of the shells was an oddball in that it was different from the other 24 shells in the box.

From "Parkers in Pulp - 1878"

October 5, 1878, The Chicago Field, “Somerset, O. - Editor Chicago Field: - Pigeon shoot a Fultonham, between C. H. Hope, of Somerset, and S. C. Belknap, of Zanesville. Conditions twenty-five birds each, 21 yards rise, 80 yards boundary. Each man to ‘find, trap and handle,’ for the other. Belknap wagering $50 to Hope’s $45. Hope shot his old 14-gauge Parker, Belknap a Scott 12-bore. Hope wins by the following score. Hope - 23; Belknap - 18. Old Gunner.”

Dean, I heard about the 18 gauge but was not sure if what I was hearing was true, why did you not buy the gun and was the owner from N.C. Gary

Dean Romig 04-06-2019 04:23 PM

It was a DHE originally made as a 16 gauge that Parker made an additional set of barrels more as an experiment than anything else.
Tha condition wasn’t great and the original 16 gauge barrels were not with the gun.
In fact, the shells were head stamped something like 20 gauge and furthermore, where would I be able to find ammo for it... nowhere I’ll bet!

And he wanted $20k for it....
