Well this is my first restoration, well not really a restoration. I picked up a project Trojan a while back. The replacement stock was about 85% and the forend about 95. I have never done anything with wood and I think I got it right where it needs to be, glob knows using that rasp was nerve wracking. I'll get it out for checkering a little later. This is the first time I have ever ventured out and dismantled the entire receiver, scary at first but pretty simple once you get through it.
Stock and Forend with the modified iron next the receiver was blued I removed the bluing, just don't like the look. I did some googling on case colors and well out of my skill (kitchen oven only goes to 600), but I did find a site where colors were duplicated by the use of super blue and alcohol. Well I got both and gave it a shot. It's not great, but I think I can get it better. Needs more blue and less olive, for now it works! I'll continue to plug away at it!

I know it's not real case hardening, the colors are starting to come together.
