E. Schmidt & Haberman
What can anyone tell me about these German side by sides? Are they collectable? etc.

Some most definitely are. A friend bought a v light wt 12ga for a pretty reasonable price. When he decided to sell it he reached out the "German gun collectors assoc." and about doubled his money as they scrambled for it. It was a stunning but relatively simple near mint gun. 12ga, 30" and wicked tight chokes, but at 6# you'd be crazy to shoot much of a load in it. From what I understand, they really wanted that gun.

My dad had a 16 ga schmidt. Bought it out of a pawn shop after the War (ww2). Traded it some years later. I remember that it had sidelocks and very nice wood. I didnt shoot it much growing up, preferred his 16 vh which had less recoil and i thought more comfortable to carry and shoot. Never knew much about these Schmidts.
